Jud Bergeron
Artist Biography:
Jud Bergeron studied classical sculpture with Lacy DeGarenday at The Old Lyme Academy of Fine Arts from 1988 to 1991. For the next ten years he worked as mold maker and master patina artist at foundries around the US ultimately ending up in Berkeley California working with Peter Voulkos, Stephen DeStabler and Bruce Beasley. From 1996 to 2002 he was included in over twenty group shows from Los Angeles to Santa Fe. In 2003 Bergeron designed, built and was curator for Varnish Fine Art, a gallery based in San Francisco, CA. Bergeron was also involved in The Hearts in San Francisco Project in 2004 where he fabricated a six by six foot abstract steel heart that was installed in front of the War Memorial in San Francisco. Bergeron has completed two residencies, the first in 2001 at The Eugene Glass School in Eugene Oregon, and in 2005 at I-Park in East Haddam Connecticut.
