Cool Water, Hot Island, the five-block, 50,000-square-foot painting covering the surface of Broadway from 47th to 42nd Streets in Times Square, was installed last June and will remain for 18 months as part of a city-commissioned public art project.
These 39 Times Square Pour Paintings were made to explore possible approaches to depicting the flow of water - a reference to the historical geography of Midtown, and the Great Kill stream that once flowed near Times Square. Cool Water, Hot Island was created from these paintings. - Views: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4
